Stuart Finlayson writes
The clock on the pavilion was bought by the Parish Council as part of
the millennium celebrations and was supplied by Steve Fletcher
(of The Repair Shop TV programme fame). It was installed by
myself and my brother in law Graham Perkins (Graham was brought
up in the village and lived in Pilgrims Cottage, Chapel Hill at
that time).
The clock had an electric motor and was radio linked to a
transmitter in Rugby to keep accurate time and negate the need
for somebody to make seasonal time changes.
Unfortunately some members of the village youth decided it would
be a good idea to break the clock hands some few months after it
was installed and to my belief it has not worked from that day
to this.
Perhaps I should look at getting it fixed!!
