Painswick House - Brize Norton

Started in 2018 this garden is still ‘under development' but the various features are beginning to get established. The natural stream has a bank full of new plants, there are pots and planters, a raised herb bed, plus well stocked borders and the wonderful climbing roses - and cosy corners to seat and relax.

Brize Norton is a Domesday Village in the Cotswolds not far from Burford and Bampton (of Downton Abbey fame).

We have a Norman Church with  interesting features including our crusader knight and  RAF Brize Norton squadron standards. There is a flower festival in the church on the day we open our gardens.

One of our Open Gardens has a listed Dovecote. 

We offer a pleasant afternoon for visitors with tea and cakes provided by the church in the Elder Bank Hall and Grange Farm.   There are also two pubs.

Local attractions include Crocodiles of the World.
